CFT Convention Call: Building Education That Works
The 71st annual CFT Convention will take place from March 15-17 in Sacramento. The theme of the year: Building Education That Works. If you’ve been interested in statewide educational issues, becoming more involved in the CFT, or taking on more leadership in the CCFT, we encourage you to consider attending. All CCFT members may nominate themselves to serve as delegates. Convention delegates determine the direction of the state-wide body and attend workshops on topics such as educational issues, fair taxation policy, and leading a local union.
If you would like to nominate yourself to serve as a delegate, please email your name and contact information to ccft@ccftcabrillo.org or call 464-2238 by 11AM on February 25. Convention brochures with the tentative schedule and workshop titles can be obtained in the faculty mailroom or by contacting the CCFT office. CCFT will likely reimburse up to ten delegates for necessary expenses. Formal approval of delegates will take place the CCFT Council meeting on February 25 (if necessary, we will hold a formal election).

Adjunct Spring Paychecks: Everyone starts in January!
ALL adjunct faculty will now receive five paychecks each spring: at the end of January, February, March, April, and May. This moves them to the same pay schedule as full-time faculty. (In the past adjunct faculty only received a Jan. paycheck if there were work days in January). This recent improvement was advocated by CCFT and agreed to by the District about a year ago.
California Part Time Association Annual Conference
Is coming up on April 20, 9-4:30 at DiabloValley College in Pleasant Hill. CCFT will reimburse registration and mileage for up to five part time faculty to attend. Contact John Govsky if you're interested in joining Cabrillo's delegation! Learn more about it here at the CPFA Forum.org.
