Maintenance of Health Benefits Stipend for Adjunct Faculty with Temporary Drop in Assignment for 2013-14 Only
Per Section 14.4.4 of the CCFT Collective Bargaining Agreement– Initial Eligibility Established but Annual Work Load Less Than 12 Teaching Units:
“After initial eligibility has been established (per Section 14.4.1), if benefits are lost due to a decreased workload, then eligibility will be reinstated for the following year if the workload for the current year is greater than or equal to 12 teaching units including the summer session preceding the academic year and winter session of the academic year. Initial eligibility must be reestablished if an adjunct member has not been employed by the District for two academic years.”
Individuals who dropped below 12 teaching units for the 2012-13 academic year due to cutbacks will be given a one-time allowance to maintain eligibility for health benefits for 2013-14 if they are assigned 12 or more units for the 2013-14 academic year (including the summer prior to the academic year). Division deans will verify that at least 12 units have been assigned for 2013-14.
