YES on 30 / NO on 32Proposition 30 is a progressive tax measure that would fund education in the state and avert budgetary disaster for our public education system. If it fails, Cabrillo will be cut an additional 7.5% ($3.5 million). The college has already cut almost $10 million from its budget over the since 2008. We have lost over a thousand TUs, or 350 sections Proposition 32 would eliminate the ability of working people to participate in politics by prohibiting payroll deductions to be made for any political issue. Corporations already outspend unions 15 to 1. This bill would give millionaires and corporations even more power than they have now to buy our leaders and shape the policies that affect our lives.
