As the CCFT negotiations team moves into a new season of contract negotiations we are aware of the current State budget dilemma and the impact of potential reduced funding for Cabrillo. We will continue to be focused on and insist that faculty are supported with reasonable ongoing compensation increases, reduced healthcare cost, continuance of Associate faculty parity increases, recognition of workload demands that are out of balance (including the DC Matrix), and other changes that will be low-cost to The District yet significant to you. We strongly believe that Cabrillo needs to continue making positive changes that uplift all employees struggling with the high cost of living, salaries that are not competitive (when compared to the rankings of the 72 community college districts), and in one of the most expensive counties in California.

CCFT Executive Director’s Welcome
The semester is moving quite rapidly and there is never a dull moment here at CCFT. We are very excited our office will be getting a “facelift” during spring break at the end of March. It has been flooded several times over the last couple of years and we can’t wait to get it back in shape. We thank everyone at FPPO that is helping to make this happen.
I had the honor and privilege to be in Sacrament to see our own Claire Thorson receive a special award for all she does for all faculty at the FACCC policy and Advocation Conference. Si Se Puede, Claire !!!!
CCFT has been meeting with UCSC Labor Center on a survey that will be conducted with UCSC/Cabrillo Students. Information from the survey will help us look at the lives of young workers throughout the County.
Here’s to a great semester! And always feel free to reach out to us. In unity, strength, and solidarity!
Daniel, Daniel Dodge,CCFT Executive Director
