Over the course of the 2023-2024 academic year, CCFT reached agreements with the District on an MOU and various side letters regarding the 2022-25 contract and other contractual issues.The CCFT Council and the CCFT Executive Board have voted to recommend ratification of these agreements.

CONTRACT CHANGES AND SIDE LETTERS

Article 7 – CCFT Rights and Organizational Security – 7.9.2.2

  • Updates include additional membership guidance. 

Article 10 – Leaves

  • Adds new requirements from the California paid sick leave law.
    • Associate unit members shall be entitled to leave with full pay for purposes of personal injury or illness at the rate of one third (1/3) of a day per unit taught by the unit member per semester “but not less than 40 hours or 5 days per year”.
  • Updates – Reproductive & Bereavement Leave
    • Including new California State required changes for Reproductive Loss.
    • Principal Domestic Partner is included in update to Federal Law – Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

Article 11.9 – Department Chairs

  • Changes to the DC Matrix. This MOU represents a two-year pilot program for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic years.

Article 14 – Health and Welfare Benefits

  • Updates the annual benefits stipend amounts for all unit members effective for the 2024-25 academic year.
    • Continues the 50/50 cost sharing model for covering medical plan increases, which is approximately 8% total, or about 4% for faculty.
    • Continues with the same set of 7 medical plans (including Kaiser).
    • No cost increase for dental care, with an expansion of benefits.

New cost to Full-time Faculty:

  • 14.2.3 Employee Only: $14,938.45
  • 14.2.4 Employee Plus One Dependent: $28,802.16
  • 14.2.5 Employee Plus Two or More Dependents: $40,462.59
