| Health Benefits Stipend | After working 15 or more units for two consecutive years, including the summer session(s) preceding the academic year and winter session during the academic year, adjuncts become eligible for a district-paid benefits stipend for medical and dental insurance. Eligibility is maintained if the unit member works 15 or more teaching units each year, including summer and winter sessions. The stipend for the current year is approximately $465.74/month or $4,657.40 annually. | |
| Office Hours | Defines how many office hours are required per teaching unit. | |
| Office Space | According to the contract, Deans are to notify adjunct faculty of designated office space before the first week of each semester. Please contact the CCFT Grievance Officer if you have not been given an office space. | |
| Reemployment Preference | After teaching at Cabrillo for eight semesters in an academic discipline, an adjunct unit member shall have assignment preference in that discipline. An adjunct unit member with assignment preference in an academic discipline shall be offered an assignment therein before an adjunct unit member without assignment preference and according to the Length of Service list. Summary information about the three retirement plans available to you at Cabrillo. Part-timers working half-time or more must participate in STRS DB. Social Security is the default plan for those who work less than 50%, but you may opt for an alternative plan. Once you have selected an alternative plan (ie. STRS or APPLE), your decision is irrevocable if there is no break in service. | |
